When Michael Fagan, the head of the domain registry for Ireland, was interviewed for the job, he was told by outgoing director Denis Jennings, "there's one thing I promise--this isn't going to be a bed of roses."

Fagan acknowledges: "I reckon I became one of the most hated people in Ireland."
