If the proposal had been passed the second-level domain would be moderated, or controlled, and join four other such domains in New Zealand - .govt.nz, .mil.nz, .cri.nz, and .iwi.nz. But votes cast for the new domain reached only 65.47 percent of the total vote when a threshold of 70 percent was required. A total of 391 votes were cast.
