NetNation CEO Joseph Kibur told NewsFactor that the deal strengthens VeriSign's monopoly on the dot-com domain name. "This has nothing to do with security of the Internet," Kibur said. "It's solely for the economic benefit of VeriSign. The fact that [operator and registrar are] together means they can do anti-competitive things. They're already doing that."
